Installation & Activation

How to download, install, and activate the software you buy from Fahymas Licensing, using official manufacturer sources only.

Always download software from the manufacturer. Fahymas Licensing directs customers to official Microsoft download sources. We do not distribute modified installers, activation utilities, or third-party patching tools, and you should not use them. Software obtained from unofficial sources may be altered and is not covered by your license.

Before you begin

Check three things before you start, because they determine whether a license can activate at all:

  • Edition. A license activates the exact edition it was issued for. A Windows 11 Pro license will not activate Windows 11 Home, and the reverse is also true.
  • Architecture and system requirements. Confirm your device meets the manufacturer’s published requirements for the version you bought.
  • Microsoft account. Some products require a Microsoft account to redeem or to keep the license linked to you. The product page for each item states whether an account is required.

Microsoft Windows

1. Obtain the installation media

Microsoft publishes official Windows installation media and download tools on its own website:

You can install directly on the current device, or create a bootable USB drive for a clean installation. Back up your data before performing a clean installation, because it erases the target drive.

2. Install

Run the installer and follow the on-screen steps. If you are asked for a product key during installation and you want to complete setup first, you can usually choose the option to skip and enter the key later.

3. Activate

Once Windows is installed, enter the license information supplied with your order:

  • Windows 11: Settings, then System, then Activation. Choose Change product key and enter your key.
  • Windows 10: Settings, then Update and Security, then Activation. Choose Change product key and enter your key.

Your device needs an internet connection to complete activation. After activation succeeds, the same Activation screen will confirm that Windows is activated.

Microsoft Office (perpetual versions)

Perpetual Office releases are redeemed through your Microsoft account rather than typed into the application:

  1. Go to setup.office.com.
  2. Sign in with a Microsoft account, or create one if you do not have one.
  3. Enter the product key supplied with your order to redeem it to that account.
  4. Download and run the installer that Microsoft provides after redemption.
  5. Open any Office application and sign in with the same Microsoft account to complete activation.

Keep a record of which Microsoft account you redeemed the product to. The license stays attached to that account, and you will need it to reinstall later.

Microsoft 365 (subscription)

Microsoft 365 is a subscription and is managed from your Microsoft account:

  1. Go to microsoft.com/microsoft-365 and sign in, or redeem at setup.office.com where a key is supplied.
  2. Install the applications from your account dashboard.
  3. Sign in inside any application to activate.

A subscription remains active only while its term is paid and current. When a subscription lapses, the applications move into a reduced-functionality state until it is renewed. Renewal and cancellation are managed in your Microsoft account.

If activation fails

Work through these checks first, because they resolve the majority of activation problems:

  • Confirm the installed edition matches the edition your license was issued for.
  • Confirm the key was typed correctly, including any characters that are easy to confuse.
  • Confirm the device has a working internet connection.
  • Confirm you are signed in to the correct Microsoft account, where the product requires one.
  • Note the exact error code shown on screen.

If the problem continues, contact us with your order number and the exact error code. Do not attempt to bypass activation using third-party tools; doing so will not resolve a licensing problem and may compromise your device.

Getting help

Fahymas LLC supports questions about your order, your purchase, and the license information we supplied. Microsoft supports the operation of its own software under its own terms. If an issue turns out to be a fault in the software itself rather than in your license, we will tell you and point you to the manufacturer’s support channel.
